Our Packaging Partners

Tempo Flexible Packaging

Leonardo (Len) Giglio is the owner of Tempo Flexible Packaging, a food packaging solutions company based in Innisfil, Ontario, that specializes in custom-printed and sustainably-minded packaging solutions. In 2021, Tempo Flexible Packaging underwent a $14.4 million dollar expansion, which included government funding through the Office of Andrea Khanjin.

When Fresh Food Weekly received charitable status in 2022, we approached Len and asked if he’d be willing to donate some bags for our meal box deliveries.

Len has been a monumental support for the Fresh Food Weekly program, who ended up donating 11,000 custom-made, fully-branded, heavy-duty, recyclable delivery bags to the Fresh Food Weekly program.

Designing the Bags

Fresh Food Weekly’s first batch of delivery bags were designed to accommodate the dimensions of a one-dozen egg carton and a 2L carton of milk, for the depth and length. For the height of the bags, we went with the “highest” option available.

Moore Packaging Corporation

Moore Packaging is a corrugated packaging solutions company based in Barrie, Ontario, specializing in tailored packaging solutions for a multitude of products and applications since 1979, including custom wood pallets.

In 2023, one of Moore Packaging’s sales reps read about the Fresh Food Weekly program in a BarrieToday.com article, and then reached out to see if there was anything they could do to help support our Fresh Food Weekly program.

Designing the Boxes

At the time, we were using NuPasta boxes to put bread loaves in, for packing meal box delivery bags. We did this because the boxes kept the bread loaves in tact during the delivery process. So we asked Moore Packaging if they’d be willing to design some bread boxes based on the NuPasta box dimensions. This marked the beginning of our Moore Packaging partnership, who ended up donating around 1,000 custom-made and fully-branded bread boxes to the Fresh Food Weekly program.

Lance Supply Company

Lance Morille is the owner of Lance Supply Co., a restaurant supply company located in Barrie, Ontario. Lance had been donating food packaging and cleaning supplies to the Fresh Food Weekly program since 2021, well before our program received charitable status.

Thanks to Lance, who educated us on the food and safety requirements for food handling-premises, Fresh Food Weekly received a perfect mark on our first food safety inspection conducted by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
